Here is an overview of what is acceptable and not acceptable on both the forums and in the dream. Please read over them! This page is subject to change! (For Furcadia rules and standards click the following link: http://www.furcadia.com/standards/ )

Requests and Emits

• Once is enough. Please refrain from asking for the following things more than once: homes, gardens, emits.

• Do not request races, events or house checks. You will be denied, and the time to which we may have run the events/checks may be extended.

• Do not ask to advertise art, digos, or other Furcadia Merchandise for payment/trade. Cypress Homes is not an advertising dream, and we will suggest you take your business elsewhere (such as Furcadia Alt Market/Furcadia Art Zone/Furcadia Forums).

• Do not advertise other dreams or post dream URLs. Failure to comply will result in a warning. If the warning is ignored, you will be ejected. If you return and persist, you will be banished for up to 1 day, 3 days, or perma-banished if the manager/co-owner/owner deems the offense to be severe. (Having URLs in your description is allowed, however.)

• Emits should be, at maximum, 5 lines in the biggest font. This is to keep from spamming up the screen. If we feel it is too large, we will ask you to minimize it.

• It is highly encouraged that patrons use simple mannerisms.  "Please" and "thank you" are key. Mind your manners, and staff members will be keener to helping you in the future.

• If you ask for an emit, please wait until it is emitted. Running off before it is can cause problems, especially if your emit is over the line limit or it's above the rating.

• Do not request emits within the course of a few minutes. Once we emit for you, wait at least 10-15 minutes before it is re-emitted.

• If a staff member does not emit something for you because it does not follow our rules, do not 'demand' they emit it, then argue with them. It will get you no where, and will result in punishment.

Desk

• Chat at the desk must be kept E8 at all times. If you are curious about what a topic is rated, ask a staff member. (Includes but is not limited to: sex, violence, illegal activity, racism, abusive/offensive slander, religious persecution (or the use of a certain religion in an offensive way). If a Staff Member deems your discussion not to be E8 appropriate, they will ask you to cease. If you do not, you will be ejected. If you return and persist, you could be banned for 1 day, 3 days, or perma-banished if the manager/co-owner/owner deems the offense to be severe.

• Chatter/fast paced talking/typing should be kept to a minimum at the desk when it is full. If there are several guests at the desk, we will be stricter about the chatter. If the discussion includes many people, and there are no complaints, the chatter may go on, but only if it is not a one-on-one discussion(these can be moved to whispers), not causing a problem with guest requests, and it does not make another patron/Staff Member uncomfortable.

• It is highly discouraged to afk at the desk. If you must, please do so off to the side and away from the actual desk area.

• For late nights - desk requests will trump the auto-buy system via the bot.  This means if you buy a house using the bot, but just as you do, another patron asks the Staff Members at the desk for it, the house will be given to them. We discourage bot usage when Staff Members are online.

• Keep line spam to a very bare minimum. Posting it in 1-3 lines is fine, but no more than that -- if it takes you more than three lines to type out one sentence, you're doing something wrong. If it becomes a consistent problem, we will ask you to stop.

• Please try not to argue with the staff members. They know what they're doing and what is and isn't acceptable behavior in the dream. Arguing will get you nowhere, especially if it's persistent. If you have an issue with a staff member, please take it up with a Manager, Co-Owner or Owner.

• Harassment of a staff member will result in punishment. This is not tolerated. If they ask you to stop, you will do so. Arguing, insulting, or outright being rude to them will result in a warning, then an ejection, and then any further action that is deemed fit.

House Rules (Owning)

• Your house must be decorated in the time limit specified below [See below Guest Rules].

• You may only own a home for 5 days. There will be no warning if a Staff Member, during a house check, finds your house over this limit and clears the house. Also, if you are caught trying to exchange keys to your key holders or a staffer to keep the house, you will lose the home, and could be punished. Using the bot to sell the home, and then rebuy it is also prohibited and the Staff can track this through the bot's logs. If you are caught, you WILL be punished. This could be/is not limited to 1 day, 3 days, or perma-banishment if you are caught multiple times.

• You may decorate your house as you see fit. However: emits may not be made if they are above the E8 standard. This includes, but is not limited to: brothel, night club, bar, mating house, or dating area. If you think it's about the E8 rating, it probably is. Also, offensive symbols must not be made in the house with walls, floors or items. (Swastikas are one example, a symbol trolls/trouble makers will sometimes put up. This will not be tolerated, and not only will you be banished if you are caught doing this, you will be reported to the guardians).

• Guests may not own more than one home or garden. Failure to follow this rule will result in the loss of one or all properties purchased, and if the offense persists/you are caught again doing this, you will be punished. This could include a 1 day, 3 days, or perm-banishment if your offense is deemed severe by a Manager/Co-owner/Owner.

• You may not own a house and a garden at the same time unless your house key is a shared key.

• Do NOT give keys to random guests or to members of the staff team. This is evading the auto-clearing system, and will result in punishment. If you are caught doing this multiple times, you could be banished for 1 day, 3 days, or perma-banished if the Managers/Co-Owners/Owners deem it is severe enough.

• Please refrain from using the bot at night to check out houses that are locked. Buying them, looking at them, then reselling, and repeating the process can cause massive emit spam, so please avoid it!

• Bot Hours: 12 AM-8 AM

Miscellaneous

• Patrons may not hold events in the event room unless a staff member is present during the entire process.

• You may only have one fishing line spot. That is all. Do not hop spots if there is more than one person present at any given time. If you are hopping and someone else arrives to fish, you must stop.

• Tents are not regulated by staff. You are held responsible for lost items. If something gets stolen, no action will be taken.

• Please refrain from whispering staff members for requests. If you'd like something, please ask at the desk. Desk requests trump whisper requests.

• Please do not sell Cypress items for Furcadia merchandise or for payment. (Example: Do not sell cypress gold for gold dragonscales. Do not sell a pet cat for a month of kiwi, etc.) We will not help you if this happens or you are scammed, for we are not responsible.  It's self explanatory that cypress gold and items have no value, where as digos and scales do. The only thing via Cypress you may get in exchange for dragon scales are permanent homes.

• Names deemed inappropriate for the standard will be removed. We will ask once. If you fail to comply, we will forcefully remove the alt. There will be no exceptions. (If a staff member finds the name questionable, ask down the chain of command.)

• Do not block NPCs in any of the public areas.

• Do not fight to be adopted over others when in the shelter. If you want to be adopted, please don't beg someone if another furre gets adopted before you.

Forum Rules

• Inappropriate names will be deleted. Please keep them within the same standards of the dream.

• Signatures, user titles, and avatars must be in the appropriate standard of T+. (Please do not post pictures or signatures that pertain to: offensive terms, sex or appear to be anything related, violence, racial slander.)  Failure to comply will result in the signature/avatar being removed without warning. If it continues to return, we will deny you the right to one. Managers and up are to make their own judgment. If you feel your avatar/signature was wrongfully removed, contact a co-owner or Treeki.

• Signatures may not exceed 6 lines of text. Refrain from using huge images and animated gifs.

• Adoptables (Squibies etc) and images should be hidden using the spoiler tag to avoid taking up space.

• Unrelated/Pointless/content-less posts are to go on the spam forum only. Failure to do so will result in the topic being moved or deleted.

• Threads should go in the appropriate category and should be on topic with the designated forum. This includes, but is not limited to: Spam threads in the games forum, and vice versa. If these are reviewed by a staffer who does not think it is following the forums topic, it will be moved to its appropriate forum.

Dream-wide

• Spamming, in any size, shape, or form, is not tolerated. To spam means to repeat something unnecessarily. This includes pasting an item or floor over and over in any area, be it house, events, shelter, etc. Text spam, when someone says something over and over is also not allowed. Text spam is considered anything repeated 4 or more times, saying it 3 times will get you a warning.

• Harassment of other patrons is not tolerated. This includes, but is not limited to: name calling, derogatory remarks about race; sexuality; religion; gender; etc, spamming of the patrons property, deliberately using tall items to block yards, general bullying, etc. Be respectful and polite to your fellow patrons and you will not have any problems. If a patron is doing any of these things to you, or is at all making your time at Cypress Homes un-enjoyable, please let a staff member know, or use the ignore command on them. If a staff member is the one harassing you, please let Treeki, management or higher know.

• Please respect your fellow guests and the staff members. The first step in getting respect is to respect others. You can do this by being friendly to your fellow patrons and staff members. We want a pleasant atmosphere in Cypress Homes, and to get this we must rely heavily on everyone being at the very least, polite, to others in the dream. We acknowledge that not everyone will get along well, and that there will be fights sometimes, that there will also be friendships made and there will be lots of fun. So it is your duty to give respect to those also using the dream. If you don't like another patron, you are free to put them on ignore, evict them from your house and never talk to them again. You can still do this respectfully; just don't be blatantly rude about it.
  If you don't like a staff member, please let another staff know that you are blocking said staff, so that someone else can aid you. If you block all the staff, you will find that your stay might be a bit boring, so if some staff annoy you or are harassing you, let an owner or manager know so they can help sort things out.

• Excuses will not be tolerated. We've heard them already. Spamming the dream on an alt, getting banished and then telling us it was your sister/brother/cousin/dog won't make us unban you. If it REALLY was your sister/brother/cousin/dog, then go complain to them, not us.

• Use your common sense. The rules aren't here to list every single thing you can't do. If you think something will get you in trouble, either ask, or don't do it. Bending the rules on purpose (for example, constantly spamming text three times, just because the rules say 4 or more will get you in trouble) and then claiming "OMG THE RULEZ SAID IT HAD TO BE 4 TIMES U BAD STAFF I REPORT U." won't make us feel sorry for you.
